Our Role and Limitations as a Recruitment Firm

Gerard Search is a recruitment firm specializing in connecting nonprofit organizations with qualified candidates already eligible to work in Canada. Our role is to identify and present suitable candidates for positions as retained by our clients, who are the organizations engaging our services. At no point do we charge fees to candidates for recruitment services.


As part of the recruitment process, Gerard Search identifies and presents candidates who apply to specific positions. Employers independently conduct interviews, make hiring decisions, and assume all responsibilities related to employment. For example, if you were selected for a role, it was based on the employer's decision following their independent evaluation of all candidates.


Gerard Search’s Role and Limitations


  • Work Eligibility: Candidates presented to employers confirm their eligibility to work in Canada at the time of recruitment. Gerard Search is not a recruiter for foreign workers, which is a distinct designation requiring specialized licensing. We do not facilitate work permits, immigration processes, or liaise with immigration authorities.
  • Employment Agency Distinction: Gerard Search operates as a recruitment partner for employers, not as an employment agency. We do not employ candidates, manage payroll, or oversee compliance matters. These responsibilities rest with the hiring organization.


Candidate Responsibilities

As a candidate, it is your responsibility to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process, including work permits and résumés, is accurate and up-to-date. Gerard Search relies on the integrity of this information to present you as a candidate to employers.


Employer Responsibilities

Employers who engage Gerard Search for recruitment services assume full responsibility for employment decisions and compliance with all relevant employment and immigration laws.
